The first thing that came into my mind when I heard the president’s SONA was the issue behind the rice importation of the National Food Authority (NFA) which is one of our PNOY’s pasabog. Yes, that’s right. I analyzed the SONA and realized that the speech is more focused in the last administration which is Arroyo’s. Let’s go back to our previous topic. News said that NFA imports too much rice while other imported rice in our country biodegrades worth forty million pesos plus (P40M+). Noy’s statement is right. There are many people who involuntarily hunger in the Philippines while there are foods which are wasted and gone for nothing and they are still importing. The employees of NFA reacted to the SONA of our president. In my own opinion, they took the speech personally. They didn’t even realize that the speech was intended to teach not to embarrass anybody. It just tells, even for us, that we should not waste food and money.
Another thing that caught my attention was that the Manila Waterworks Services System or MWSS has an issue too. It seems that this government corporation prioritize the luxuries of its employees rather than prioritizing the pensions and benefits of its retirees. A question was made by thinking this: When will the retirees will get their pensions and benefits? When they are dead?
President Noy said that the area of La Mesa is a reserve area and he also added that instead of trees, they built houses. The homeowners claimed that they have the right documents and papers to prove that their subdivision is legitimate. They said that before our Ex-president Pampanga Representative Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed the law, which states that the La Mesa is a reserve area, the subdivision was first there. Oh well! Let’s leave it to them and let our government take care of this. Moving on!
Not being able to react on all of our president’s SONA, overall, I would like to tell all the people out there, including the UP Law school Students who reacted why PNOY didn’t share or promised any specific developments or plans for our country disregarding what he said about the 100 million dollars (S100M). Let’s look at the SONA literally. I only realized this. SONA... State of the Nation’s Address right? Noy’s SONA was all about reporting the last administration’s problems which is passed to our present government which is Noy’s Administration. He’s right. He’s just telling the state of our Nation. That our nation lacks enough money to support our country. That’s Addressing the state of our nation.
